2001 Audi A4 power locks

I just bought this a4 1.8T and the power locks seem to have a problem. When I push the button from the drivers door there is a strange motor like noise that comes from the trunk near the gas cap. But there is no movement from the locks at all.
what can be done to fix this problem?

I'm having the same problem with an audi a4 I just purchased also. I was wondering if you found out any info on it?

No I haven't had any responce. I've looked everywhere and it seems that others have the problem but no one gives the solution
