1998 Audi A4 Speedometer wont work

I recently took my 1998 Audi a4 to get the engine and transmission power wash and now the speedometer and odometer won’t work also my check engine light came on, does one go with the other?

need to have the code retrieved by a diagnostic scanner. could be the speed sensor got wet or disconnected during wash which will cause speedo to fail and may also throw the engine light
