1998 Audi A4 oil temperature gauge

when starting my car the oil temperature gauge goes cmpletely to the right hand side and stays there. even before the car warms up. any suggestions please.

Hi xkrv8,

There are 2 possibilities.
1. Shorting of sending unit or wire circuit.
2. Faulty gauge or insufficient grounding.
