a few weeks ago my heater stopped working in my audi a4 i was told its the heater core that needs replacing but its a long job so i opted nt to have it done.
the other day i was driving my car and the oil can symbol came on the dash i checked the dipstick and it was ok and above the min mark.
i drove for a while and the oil temp sensor went to over 120 and the car cut off.
i checked under the bonnet and the coolant was empty.
i waiting about 10 mins put some water in and the car started again.
i drove another 10 mins or so and a smell of burning oil came inside the car from the air vents.
the engine oil level seems ok.
even when the coolant was empty the light never came on only the oil can light came on.
i obviously have a water leak somewhere as i am losing water
what do you think is wrong? blown head gasket?
oil and water are not mixing no sludge
