1996 Audi A4 noise when accelerating

Hi,
My car when accelerating evn in neutral is making clattering noise...sounds like its coming from the front of the car .....some details since I have had the car about 50000 miles it always was missing power but lately it seems like i will accelerate into first or second every gear and feels like somethings holding it back .dont know if that has anything to do w/it but just thought it would be good to put it out there.

Hi tansbadass,

Seems like the car is misfiring and hesitating when accelerating.

You oght to check the spark plugs, cables and distributor.
