I recently took my Audi A3 in for service and was told that my battery was really weak (invoice stated battery doesn't hold charge), they told me it would need to be replaced and programmed. Do batteries need programming after replacing?

Hi there,

The battery dose not need re programing, what they may mean is that the car will need re setting as when the battery is removed you will will loose any memory set in the radio and the ECU, but the way to overcome this is to use a code saver this is a 9V battery with a cig lighter adapter, with this plugged into the cig lighter and the ignition on Acc this is enough voltage to hold all memory while the main battery is replaced,
