I had a new torque converter fitted in the gearbox. Everything seems o.k. except, when with your foot on the break , when you put the car in drive or reverse it gives quite a jerk. Is there something that needs to be adjusted. thanks

Have the base idle speed checked, as if it is to high, this may occur.
