Electrical problem
1992 Audi 100 Front Wheel Drive Manual 170000 miles

I have a 1992 100s with 170k miles. It still runs beautifully and I want to give it to my son. However, it has strange starting behaviour. When left alone overnight it almost always starts. However, when I use it and park it for a little while I can never tell if it will start. The engine cranks without a problem; it just won't catch. Usually if I leave the car alone for a few hours it will start again as if nothing was wrong. The battery, spark plugs and cables have been replaced. My mechanic says the problem is with the computer. Do you have any thoughts on this?

Thank you!
