I know the transmission is on its way out in my car listed above 1.8 turbo. my question is, is it worth the $170.00 to do a simple transmission flush or is it possible it would do more damage and I wouldn't be able to limp along a little longer?

Good afternoon,

No, do not do the flush.

Changing the fluid and filter is a good thing to do but not a flush. The flushing agent has additives that damage the clutch material on the internal clutches accelerating the failure time.
