Welcome to 2CarPros.

Yes, that is correct. Here are the specific directions for belt replacement.

DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT
Drive Belt Replacement

Removal Procedure

picture 1

Note: To remove the power steering pump belt, do remove the accessory belt in advance.

1. Rotate the tensioner star-nut (1) and remove the accessory belt.
2. Remove the power steering belt. Refer to Refer to Power Steering Pump Belt Replacement (See: Drive Belt > Removal and Replacement > Power Steering Pump Belt Replacement).

Installation Procedure

picture 2

1. Install the power steering belt. Refer to Power Steering Pump Belt Replacement (See: Drive Belt > Removal and Replacement > Power Steering Pump Belt Replacement).
2. Rotate the tensioner star-nut (1) and install the accessory belt.
3. Install the engine front shield at the position of right front wheel.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,
Joe

Okay, I'm confused by the pictures. Both pictures have a number one with a line drawn down to bolt, that bolt is what keep the tensioner assembly locked and secured to the block. Then I see a two headed arrow. My question is, the picture I have up loaded with circled around 12 grove nut looking thing is the where my socket will hook up to release the tension.

Yes, that is correct. Basically, the tensionier pivots. Move it away from the belt to release tension.

Took to Firestone, it was loose bolts on the compressor. They tightened them up no more noise. PS: I did put that tensioner on first that didn't correct the noise, thereafter Firestone.

Welcome back:

I'm glad you got it taken care of. A loose bolt? That figures. LOL

Take care and let us know if you ever have questions in the future.
