Anyone know why It’s running so bad?

It’s my project truck, I’m building a rock crawler out of it and LS swapping it but I need it to run for now so I can move it in and out of the garage until I’m ready for the LS. Any help would be appreciated.

Here’s what happened:

It ran fine a few days ago until I was rerouting some wiring. I unplugged the ignition cable on the steering column to zip tie it out of the way and one of the wires sparked off the steering column. (Yes I’m an idiot for not taking the ground off of the battery)
when that happened it blew a fuse so I plugged the ignition back in and replaced the fuse.
Right after this I went to start it and when I turned the key everything turned on, relays, fuel pump, etc. But it wouldn’t crank and there was no power to the ignition system so it wouldn’t start.
(See first video)
After this I unhooked the ground wire from the battery and waited a minute then hooked it back up. Now it starts but runs like crap. (See second and third video)

(Also, the knocking you hear isn’t new, I know the motor is junk)

What could be the problem?

Hi,

The ignition switch sends power to the body control module which then distributes it to other places such as the powertrain control module. See pic below

What needs to be done is a can scan to see if there is a specific module that has been damaged by the short.

Here is a link that explains how to perform a can-scan:

Also, let me know which fuse failed.

Let me know.

Joe

Thanks! I will do a can scan in a few days at my shop and let you know what I find out. If I remember correctly the fuse that blew was the 10-amp IGN TRNSD and maybe the CIM as well, it was a few weeks ago and I forgot to take a picture/write it down.

Here’s all the codes it is showing, what do you think the problem could be? See attached pictures. Maybe the security system?

The 8th BCM code is just B3718 front relay drive circuit high.
(Keep in mind that most of them are parts I removed. The entire interior and some of the engine bay is gutted.)

Hi,

Looking at the codes, the only two that I see that could cause the engine to run poorly would be the ones related to the EVAP system. Are there vacuum leaks?
