Some days it will drive for a while then goes out again and when you push the gas it just revs?

was driving fine one day then all of a sudden go to shift the transmission into drive it tried taking off but stalled, then didn't. some days you can get in it, and it'll drive for a while then goes out again and when you push the gas it just revs.
