I just had a new radiator, thermostat and hoses installed in my car listed above. I told the service writer to make sure they put Dexcool antifreeze in the new radiator. He sarcastically replied they'll put in what the car requires. I was just looking at my bill and the mechanic put in Proline ll full strength antifreeze. i'm assuming this is the Pepboys brand. Is this okay or should i have them drain it and put in Dexcool?

Good afternoon.

You require Dex-Cool coolant.

Coolant type See note
When adding coolant, it is important that you use GM Goodwrench DEX-COOL or HAVOLINE DEX-COOL coolant.

I would return to Pepboys and go to the service manager and have them remove and flush the system completely of all coolant and add the correct type and amount of coolant.
