Anti-theft mode reset?

I have tried everything to reset the anti-theft mode. I have one key and no remote, nothing has worked. Can I just take the key to get it reprogrammed or do I need to have the car towed to get it reset? Lights radio etc, come on with key but it will crank with key. I have a brand-new battery.

So when you try to start it the security light is flashing correct?

Try to leave the battery disconnected overnight, if that doesn't work you can try a hard reboot which is done by removing the negative side of the battery, with the cable loose from the negative side of the battery, hold it to the positive terminal for 1 minute this will discharge the memory capacitors in the BCM and PCM allowing the system to reboot. Please let us know what happens.
