Is there an easier way to remove oil filter?

The oil filter location is in a difficult area, behind driver side wheel, you have to remove shroud toward bumper to see its location. Also turn the wheel toward the left to have a little more access.

My question is, it doesn't seem you could use any conventional tool with the limited space you have to work with, what would be the best way to remove?
