My car was not starting on the weekend. Tried jump cables as well and would not start. Thought it may be a problem with the alternator. Had a friend come and look at it today and started it using jump leads and the car started. Turned the car off after a few minutes and tried starting it again but it would not. Goes back to same problem had on the weekend. Do you think this is definitely an alternator problem or could be something different?

I have seen them installed right off of the shelf and be bad.

Reason for them there warranty's, 'round here, two months would be a free replacement! (PROVIDING IT IS THE BATTERY)

Change the battery and run it to the auto store for testing (Which should include the alternator, still on the vehicle, too!)
