Hi,

My alternator is not working, so I went to a junkyard to find a replacement alternator. I only find one but it is a four cylinder. The connector on the alternator is not same for four cylinder. I want to use the alternator of four cylinder but I do not have the diagram of the connector. Can you pleaser share me?

Good evening,

There is no way to adapt the 4 cylinders to the 6 cylinder alternator. The connectors are the same but the mounting is completely different and will not work.

I attached pictures of the connectors and the mountings below for you. You need the correct alternator.

Hi Asemaster.

The one that I found is the second one picture, it does not have the same connector but looks like the same mounting hole. Can you please let me know which Escape it is Ford and the diagram. maybe this one I can adapt it?

I need the numbers of the one you want to use. That way I can check the year.

I attached the one for your car and was a lot less money. You are better off with that one.

Okay, that is an older 4 cylinder one but the bolt pattern is not the same.

You need the correct alternator.

Hi Roy,

Can you please advise which models of Escape can I use the alternator? I was reading that it should be from 2001 to 2004?

That is correct but make sure you use the one for the V6. The 4 cylinder one will not work.

You can try a website called www.car-part.com. enter your information and see the local yards with the part.
