My alternator bolt broke, then my check engine light came on and my battery light as well. i tried checking my codes but overytime i plug in my obdii it doesn't let it read the codes.the rpm needle is not working either. the temperature isn't working as well. as i push the gas peddle for more speed it looses power and doesn't let me go more then 30 miles.

You will have to fix the alternator problem first, was it the adjuster bolt or the long mounting bolt?

I just bought a new alternator. It is the long bolt at the bottom of the alternator. I just replaced both of the mounting bolts

OK, better get a scan done and post the codes so we can see what is going on.
