I Had my alternator tested at O'Reillys and they said it was bad. When i got home, i noticed my serpentine belt was gone. If i put a new belt on, will my alternator be good?

hard telling only way to do it is to fire it up with new belt and tensioner, then check for voltage at battery like 14.5 when running maybe at 1500 rpm.
