Altanator belt

I can not seem to get belt on alt when i release tension on pully it still half in to short what is trick got right tool for the tensioner pully just will not move enough

Make sure the belt is settled into the grooves on all grooved pulleys and try to use a smooth (backside) pulley for the last one to slip it over.

I have it just seems as if belt is wrong size could tensioner be bad

Didn't you compare it against the old belt before trying to put it on?
