Trailer lighting problem

I have a 2008 load rite trailer. The brake lights are not working properly. When I hit the brakes, one brake light goes dimmer and the other goes brighter. When the headlights are on, the other light goes dimmer and the other light gets brighter when the brakes are applied. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated

Check the wiring, sounds like a ground problem, check the grounds on the lights to frame and from frame to car.
