Just had break cable replaced after putting car in for MOT, now the car is stuck in the same garage! It won't start they reckon it's the immobilizer, so thier callin dealer 2morrow, I think they have done something wrong and i'm worried their going to ripp me off, any idea what's happened, i've tried both keys so it's not that. This has never happened before and had the car from new since Jan 03 and 35000 miles on the clock?

Your still in factory warranty or damn near still in it. Call the dealer and ask. May be covered.

Don't hit the panic button on the shop it's at. They are being honest by telling you what is going on. I wouldn't assume anything at this point. There are times a car can make a garage look bad. This doesn't appear to be deceitful.

What is MOT?

Ministry of Transportation Test.
A compulsory annual test in UK, of older motor vehicles for safety and exhaust fumes.
It is against the law to drive a vehicle that does not have a valid MOT test certificate on the road.

AAAHHHH! You're across the pond! A different name for the same thing we have. I always thought "reckon" was a southern US expression.
I guess I reckon I'm wrong !

I would see if you are still under warranty. 3yr/36,000 miles. If you are a week over, they may still help you out with a little persuasive objection.
