Hi all,

Just need to know if there is a specific cat required for California pollution requirements, this has been asked by a donor, he was advised that he will have to get this done, I just don't know.

I have never heard of a Cali only cat converter. Usually AIR injection and the such is the difference in Ca cars and all of the rest. Soon the entire USA will be going Ca emissions, so it wont matter.

Hey Oz its the same talking with this donor that gave me a negative vote on emission/smog requirements of California's EPA standards- I'm a certified Emission Specialist back in the 80's so much of the 5 gases and the TAS machine now I don't bother with it -its not a requirement here and yes I seen those Q's asked about the Cat compatibility with California

Yes, sometimes they just give you a red card because they just don't like hearing the truth, such is life.

There is a different cat for California if you shop for cats on the internet they will say will not ship to California. Pain in the butt I tried to get a cat for my 99 saturn SL2 all the cheap ones were federal cats and wouldn't be legal on a California.
