While traveling to Ga. We had transmission problems. The engine would slam into high, low, high, low and so on it would do it intermittently and than constantly. The next morning I found a shop of Good' ole boys and they went right to it and it was a gear selector switch. Might not sound the same but maybe the start of it.

I had a similar problem of it shifting hard into drive. I replaced the selector switch with a spare that I had and that didn't help. I went to see a friend at a local transmission shop and he told me to disconnect my battery for about 5 minutes and that might reset a different switch in the transmission. I did what he said and it shifts perfect again. Try this to see if it works for you too.
