93 Probe GT idles low and stalls

My 93 Probe GT, 110,000 miles ran great till I let it sit for 2 1/2 months, now it idles low and sputters, somtimes stalls and white smoke somtimes comes out the back. Every now and then when it stalls the fuel cutout light comes on but not always. This problem only occurs when coming to a stop or idling, while driving it runs great. Also make fast ticking noice. And Ideas?

My guess would have to be that the timing is alittle off. I had a new tensioner arm put in 4 months ago, and the garage told me I may have to replace the timing belt soon. Maybe this is a result of not changing it. Anyone agree or disagree?
