2002 Dakota- Why does AC Compressor stay on & not cycle.

2002 Dakota- When AC is on, the compressor stays on and never shuts off. The air blows cold until the evaporator freezes up and then no air blows at all, not even through the vents. 33,000 mile vehicle.

it sounds like the air conditioning clutch relay, which is located in the Power Distribution Center next to the battery. i am not savy with your model truck, so look for a junction box under the dash also. on some models it is located behind the instrument panel. call autozone or another parts dealer and ask where that relay is and which one it is. wouldn't know about price but i'm sure it's the cheapest thing to try first. hoped this helped.
