Power steering pump over heated and failed and had a leak and not worked for three months. Do I have to have it replaced or can I remove it and drive without power steering? The car is a Peugeot 206 GSI.

Hi there,

You will have to replace the pump, as the steering effort will be very heavy always, and the rack will start to fail as it is now void of any lubrication.
