Hi,im having a problem starting the vehicle when cold,takes some considerable time to start,used to be fine until now.has new battery,plenty of fuel,fully serviced 4000 ago with new filters etc.
Any suggestions please?

Hi Steve,

When diesel engines are difficult to start, most common causes are :

1. Glow plug system. Faulty glow plugs or its wiring system should be checked.
2. Low compression. you would need a compresison test to find out.
3. Air trapped in system, this could be due to supply hoses leakages.
4. Fuel pump fault.
