This will put you to the test, see if u know foreign cars. My VR Commodore (Australian Car) 1994 model, has done 236000 killometres (146,643 miles). It is dripping engine oil from around the oil sump near the power steering rack and can not see where it is coming from can u give me a few ideas on where it could be coming from. Also my power steering rack is leaking power steering oil everywhere it looks like it is either coming out of 2 large bolts or out of the ram itself, could it be a seal broken or what could it be.

Thanks Alot if u can help, i will send u a picture tomorrow if u want,
Sam

Hi there,

Check the rocker covers as the often leak down the back of the engine, and the rear main is often a problem with these engines. The rack is leaking from the inner seals very common problem and it will have to be removed to be repaired.

P.S. This may be an American site, but I'm an Aussie in Vic working for them......
