1994 Grand Marquis LS Check Engine in Higher Speed

I recently had my car fixed for a few normal wear and tear problems (she's nearing 140,000) but something that wasn't fixed was a check engine light. It only pops up when the car speed goes a little above 70 mph, or when accelerating on the highway. It stumped my mechanic, won't come on when he drives it, only when I do. Any reason why it's coming on? It's rather annoying, and only comes on I guess in overdrive, and at higher rpms.

The car is just trying to piss you off! Try checking any electrical part sticking out of the tranny. Also try driving the car in Drive not overdrive see if it still happens. This is just to check the condition don't do it all the time!

Had the transmission hecked, they said there was nothing wrong, in fact it was leaking fluid a little while ago and they took it apart to replace the gaskets.I'll try the overdrive though.

Did you try retreiving the codes? If the light comes on and then goes out the memory still has the code!
