Hi
Does anybody know how to change the ignition switch of a 1990 Susuki Swift? The metal part where the key goes in is broken off and there is a little tiny tiny spring in the metal part.
The 2 bolts or screws that hold the switch body onto the steering column are almost impossible to get off. The top metal plate is steel and I dont see how to remove it.
Hopefuul I can get the parts from a dealer but Im not sure yet.
thx in advance.

Removal & Installation (Swift)
Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove steering wheel, horn pad and combination switch. See Fig. 9. See STEERING WHEEL & HORN PAD and COMBINATION SWITCH. Unplug wiring connectors to steering column switches.

Pull back floor mat at bottom of steering shaft and remove lower steering column cover. Remove steering shaft joint upper side bolt. Remove steering column upper mounting nuts.
On models with automatic transmission, remove backdrive cable from steering column assembly. On all models, remove steering column. Use a hammer and drift punch to loosen shear bolts from column lock assembly. See Fig. 6. Remove column lock.
To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure alignment mark on column lock aligns with indent in steering shaft.
