1978 Questions for all other cars Car not shuting off

I have a 78 MGB. When we bought the car the original key ign switch was in bad shape. But after replacing the intire assembly on the sterring colume the car still will not shut off when the key is turned off. The radio and fuel pump shuts off but not the engine.

Did the mg shut off with the original ignition? If so then one of the wires to the new ignition is disconnected or hocked up wrong. It should ground the coil when shut off.
