1961 Rambler Classic CC

I have a 1961 Rambler Classic Cross Country with an automatic transmission and a 196 S6 engine. The engine is locked up hard as can be. I removed a working 196 S6 from a 1962 Rambler Classic with a standard transmission. There is two different cranks, and the standard crank wont bolt to the automatic transmission. So, we switched the cranks, keeping the Main Caps and Rod Caps in order (they are stamped). But now the crank wont turn if we tighten the main caps or the rod caps just a little. And it isn't a certain one, if any thing gets just a little tight, the crank wont budge at all!

Hi: was one of the cranks ever turned? You need to get a micrometer and check clearances. The new crank seems to be too big.
