Our info showed a hi beam relay and lo beam relay. You could pull the relays or applicable fuses to kill the headlamps instead of taking battery cable loose. You would have to remember to put back when you need the headlamps. According to wiring, hi beam relay doesn't use bcm. The lo beam relay does use bcm. The bcm uses a headlamp sense to know headlamp switch is turned on, have to be sure the sense isn't showing closed circuit, with everything off. If it is, your headlamp switch may be faulty or problem with wiring circuit.
