When my alarm is engaged it drains my battery. I replaced my battery in March and again the alarm drained it causing it to sound off. When I put a battery charger on the battery it as well sounded the alarm.. it took over an hour hooked up to a friends running car to charge my new battery enough so I could reset the key fob and start her up. (As well when either of the two key fobs has a dead battery the alarm will sounds off.)
Since I only drive accassionally (less than 70 miles a month) this presents a problem as I can't just lock her up without the alarm being set.
Is there any way to disengage the alarm.
Once the alarm is triggered there is no starting the truck, I can unlock the door manually but that doesn't stop the alarm. I keep Xtra fob batteries but would rather disengage the alarm so I can keep her locked without worring about battery drainage.
