Alarm system goes off on its own

Sometimes my alarm goes off for no reason. The horn and lights flash. Does not happen at any particular time or weather. What is happening with my factory installed alarm?

Triggering points are door and hood switches. If sonar sensors are used, they could also be the cause of self triggering.
Check all door switches and ensure door adjustments are correct. If you have the door ajar indicator flashing intermittently while driving, that is an indication one of the switches is out of adjustment.
