My battery kept dying so a friend (so called) said he would disconnect the DRL's (daytime running lights) went under dash under steering wheel not sure what he did or why, but now alarm and fob do not communicate. New battery and just got ignition switch replaced due to recall. What could he have done under there? Also, there is a black box with small flashing blue and green light what is that to?

Try a resynchronization on the fob. Stand close to the vehicle and press and hold the lock and unlock buttons down at the same time for ten to fifteen seconds, you will hear the door locks cycle (lock/unlock) once the fob is recognized.

I cannot think of anything that has a blue/green light on it, unless it is some type of alarm bypass or after market add on like remote start or.
Do you think you could get a picture of it and your key fob and maybe it would give a better idea of what it is. You just click the add image button and upload it.

I looked up the funky box. Do you own this car or are you paying it off to a dealer? I ask because the box is a GPS vehicle tracking unit.
https://www.positionlogic.com/gps-tracking-device-library/xt-2000-g/

From the sketchy info they have on the site it looks like it can control door locks and other vehicle functions as well. As suck it may be connected and causing the locks to be unresponsive.

If you own the vehicle and have a clear title I would take it to a shop and have that unit removed.
If you still owe money to a dealer on it, take it to them and have them remove it or check the wiring to fix the locks.

It could be because that box is connected up and has failed or shorted something out, Or when the DRLs were "disconnected" it wasn't only the DRL wire. Perhaps ask which parts were touched. That might get more results. It could be simply that a wire that works the door locks came loose, that "add on box" could be the problem.

No Saturn tech9
stalling out after it gets warm if I turn heat or air on. Replaced battery as well as ignition switch from recall has kinda high rpm. Also if I let it warm up about 15 minutes before I drive it the stalling out isn't as bad. It always restarts but pain the button especially slowing down at merging intersections. Once I get slowed down to about 10 to 15 mph rpms shoot all the way down and it stalls
