The directional control is a knob. When I turn it to the floor or defrost there is no change!

Sounds like the actuator has failed or became stuck. There are many actuators in this vehicle, we need to pinpoint which one is causing the problem. Do you hear any clicking when changing positions? Without the engine running, and the key in the on position, cycle through the positions and see if you can hear anything. Also check to see if the position will change when the "fresh air" option is turned on or off.
