Airbag safety check?

My turn signal multi switch is no longer working properly. I can use my turn signals just when my wheel turns the signal doesn’t turn off. Also, my dashboard has a message to have my airbag checked. Is that because there’s something included in the multi switch with the airbag? I almost bought another multi switch but then I seen another multi switch that has a clock spring for the airbag. Difference of $20 to $180.

Hi,

The clock spring could be causing the airbag light to be on. However, I believe they are two different components.

Take a look at the pic below. The OEM part number is 15915857. See pic below.

As far as the airbag light is concerned, you may want to scan the can-bus to determine where the problem is. It could be a clock spring, but I wouldn't want to replace it unless we know for sure.
