Hi, I am looking into buying the car listed above. The only problem I can see is that the airbag light is on. I was just wondering if it is worth getting, what the problem is and what it will take to get fix? Thanks.

The air bag indicator light showing means a fault is present in the air bag system and you would need a diagnostic scan to retrieve the trouble codes to understand what could be wrong. Cost and extent of repair would depend on what is wrong. Usual fault would be the driver clock spring going bad. It could be a simple fix as resetting the system or it could involve replacing the control unit, airbag and reprogramming.

On the other extreme of possibilities, this could be very expensive. If this car was in an accident that deployed the airbags, there are a number of very expensive components that would have been necessary to replace and if someone neglected to do that, you could be looking at thousands. Even if there never was a deployment, some of these components are very expensive.

Thanks for the replies.
We think it may be the driver clock spring, as the horn also isn't working.
Was just wondering where in this car would I find the driver clock spring and, how I can remove it without deploying the airbag.
I was also wondering where the diagnostic section in this car would be tried to find it but no luck.

Thanks

It is under the steering wheel. It is a wiring spiral that supplies uninterrupted power to everything in the steering wheel. Airbags can be very dangerous to work on as they are explosive and should only be repaired by a trained technician.

We don't have that car here in the US but the diagnostic connector is usually under the dash on the driver's side.
