Is it okay to drive my vehicle with the air suspension off?

Unfortunately no it will slowly leak out and the ride height of the car will become very low. What problem are you having?

My light comes on and off at times it and seems the compressor runs all the time.

Yep this is common, what happens most of the time is the rear shocks leak. Here are guides to help you change them out. You can get new shocks on Amazon or RockAuto. Com

What would make it come out of park and roll backward also when I hit a bump the front end is bouncy?

No, this has to do with the rear shocks only. If you have different problems please start a new question and please resolve this one.
