Please can some one comment if this should have happened when I took a car in limp mode and fault code above on but driving? We asked for diagnostic test as fault code of the above and engine in low mode. BMW garage performed tests and then deleted codes to get out of low engine mode and proceeded air mass stress test at motorway revs and blew the turbo and ruined the engine. They are saying they are not liable. We will be $17,000.00 in debt with a car we can’t drive as needs. New engine. Everything I read in internet says you should fix dpf before proceeding with such test but they didn’t. They had the fire brigade called out. I really need help and I haven’t slept for 3 days.

Hi,

I need to know which engine your vehicle has and model. See the attached list below.

Now, if the only thing you took it there to have done was a scan to identify diagnostic trouble codes and they continued testing other things, I would think that is something that is arguable. Did you authorize anything other than a scan for diagnostics?

Let me know.

We booked online diagnostic testing BMW £172.00. The job card has been changed and what we booked on line the engine had reduced power because in low mode.
But surely if the on board screen and first scan reported air filtration you shouldn’t continue until you have visually checked parts and you shouldn’t break the car any more than the fault it went in with. It was 2-3 minutes before they continued and that how did they test further when engine in limp mode. Have you heard of a stress test ? Here is report it says pause test until part remedied:

Surely it’s their job to find out from on board computer first.

Hi,

I agree with you. However, I have a feeling the only way you will get them to pay up is a law suite. Where are you finding the info related to the DPF online? I went through my manual and it isn't indicating that. If I can read what you have, it may help.
