Hi! I had the door blend actuator replaced and still didn't correct the issue. The heat works just fine, but the air does not blow cold. The compressor and condenser have been checked and are good. I was told that it needs a temperature sensor actuator. Just wondering if that will fix the issue.

Hi,

Based on if this has automatic climate control or manual control determines the locations of the blend door actuator (air mix door). The air mix door actuator is what controls the temperature entering the vehicle.

I attached a pic below of the manual system and indicated the air mix door actuator for you to see.

Here is what I need to know. First, you indicated you have heat. What happens when you change the setting from heat to cool (even with the AC off)? Also, I need to know if you have automatic ac or manual. If it is automatic, let me know if you are experiencing this on both the left and right sides of the interior since it will have dual climate control.

Take care,

Joe

It has manual control. When I turn it to cold, it’s not hot air just slightly cool. Same when the A/C is off.

Out of the two vents in the middle, the left one blows hot/warm at all times.

Hi,

If this has manual A/C, there is nothing identified as a temperature sensor actuator. I'm not sure what they are referring to.

Based on your description of my question, the blend air door is working. That leaves the A/C system. Do you hear the A/C compressor cycle on and off when you turn it on?

Let me know.

Joe

Hi,

At this point, the next thing is to start diagnostics related to the air mix door actuator. I attached the diagnostics below. Here is a link you may find helpful:

Take a look through the diagnostics and let me know if you are comfortable performing them.

Also, since it goes from heat to cooler air, the door has to be moving. The only thing I can say is it isn't moving the door far enough.

Let me know what you find or if you have questions.

Take care,

Joe
