Hi,
I had a problem with my Volvo occasionally idling funny. I was told to get and air intake control valve and replace it. I got the part image attached, but cannot find its location anywhere so as I can change it.

PIERBURG Air Intake Control Valve 7.22240.15.0
Volvo S40 II (MS) 1.8
1798cc. 125hp.
From 01/2004 to 07/2012

Any help deeply appreciated.

Hey CROSSI46,

That looks like an EVAP control solenoid and wont have anything to do with the way the engine idles. Have you installed a new set of spark plugs and check for a vacuum leak, here are a couple of guides that can help.

and

Please let us know happens so it will help others.

Best, Ken

Unfortunately you have a 1.8L which in the US is not available and the info I sent was for a 2.4L, dummy me for not looking. However I did look online and found what is in the pic that may lead in the right direction.
