Okay, so it must be at least 250 degrees in Minneapolis and my car's A/C air stops blowing cold air. Suddenly I might add. It just went from cold to warm air. No turning back, either. I heard a fan running before but now I don’t. I do not know much about car mechanics, but I have been trying to learn more since my dad is too far away and my husband could fix it but won’t. Please give me some idea’s. My dad said I could try the recharging kit from the store, but I probably have a leak. Would the cabin air filter cause the cold air to stop if it is dirty? Any input would help since I do drive clients around because I am a case manager. Thank you!

Hi,

If it happened all at once, there certainly could be a leak, but it could also be a fuse.

I attached a pic below of the under-hood fuse box. I highlighted two fuses to check and the A/C relay.

When checking the fuses, confirm they are good first. If they are, confirm there is power to and from them. Here is a link you may find helpful:

If both fuses are good and have power, remove the A/C relay, and switch it with another relay having the same part number. If that allows it to work, replace the relay with a new one. If there is still no change, then we have to try to see if it lost Freon. In a shop, we connect a vacuum pump first to see if the system will hold a vacuum, but you don't have that to check. So that means you will need to get Freon at a parts store and see if it will take and hold the charge. Here is a link that explains how that is done:

Let me know what you find, if you have questions, and what I can do to help.

Take care,

Joe
