My air was working fine but the guy I live with was charging all his vehicles so I asked if he would do mine. Ever since my air is completely out of wack. Blows cold very little and switches on its own. Well, I just started my vehicle had A/C on high and it started sounding like it was going to shut off, then belt started squeaking so I turned car off.

Hi,

I suspect the system was overcharged. What did he use to recharge it? As far as the belt is concerned, turn the A/C off and see if the belt still makes noise. The A/C compressor may have been locking up.

Here is what I suggest: If the belt is okay and there is no noise when the A/C is off, you really need to have the system vacuumed down and then recharged properly.

Here is a link showing how it's done:

Let me know. Also, let me know what was used to charge your A/C.

Take care,

Joe
