It goes from very cold to hot, and then back to being cold. When the A/C starts to blow warm, the compressor won’t kick on. The high-pressure switch has been replaced, and doing this did not solve the problem. There is an actuator inside the car that is making a clicking noise. I'm unsure if it is related to the ongoing issue.

Hi,

The clicking you hear has my attention. At first, I was thinking it could be a failing relay, but all of the relays related are under the hood.

Do you hear the clicking all the time or does it show up when you have the problem? I ask because a clicking can indicate an issue with the blend air door actuator. The actuator is what is responsible for moving a door one way or the other to provide cold air or heat.

When you say it gets hot, does it seem like the heater is on or does it just change to an ambient temperature?

Let me know. Also, since you replaced the pressure switch, did you confirm the system is fully charged? If you did, could you let me know both the low- and high-pressure readings with the system on and the outside temperature when it was checked?

Let me know.

Joe
