What would cause my AC to blow hot even though refrigerant is fully charged? Also, my external temperature on instrument cluster and radio panel shows negative when starting then goes to fifty degrees and stays there. What can be done to fix these problems?

Good morning.

When you change from heat to cool, can you hear the mode door move in the dash? It may be the blend door motor that is not working correctly.

As far as the temperature readings, it may be the ambient temperature sensor may be bad not sending the correct reading.

Okay thanks.

You will need a set of gauges to monitor the pressures of the AC system. There may be a malfunction in the pressure side of the AC system.

You can rent a set of gauges from a parts store and hook them up and then I need to see what the high and low pressure is while running.

I read somewhere else it could be the air conditioning (A/C) evaporator discharge air temperature sensor. Where is that located on my car?

On the evaporator assembly itself. That is not the issue. That is what cuts off the compressor when the evaporator is too cold. It prevents ice build up on the evaporator.

You need to check the pressures. That is where we need to start.
