For some reason I cannot get the car to take the Freon. Do you know what I am doing wrong?

This happens when the valve is not pushed open by the fill connector. Is the system on when you fill? Here is a video that shows how to recharge the system:

Yes the system is on. And why would the valve not be pushed open by fill connected. I connected and reconnected several times to try to get it to work. I think that it’s connected right.

Does the gauge move at all when connected? If not the valve is not getting depressed. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so I can see what is going on? That would be great. You can upload it here with your response.

On the can and hose I have, there is no gauge.

Hmm, that sounds a little dangerous. There is no way to know what is going on with the system then. I would get a new charge kit from Amazon or AutoZone.
