Air conditioner not as cold as I like

The AC works ok after a little while on, but not like it use to. The compressor is cycling more often than I recall. Can it just be low on refrigerant?

It was just low on refrigerant, after adding just a little made a huge difference.

It would be smart to have a shop do a complete evacuate and recharge and insert some U/V dye in the process. The amount of charge is very critical on these newer vehicles and having the incorrect charge can damage the system severely. There is no way to know exactly how much is in the system without completely evacuating and charging with an exact weighed amount of refrigerant.

Mr Expert - My son is strapped with a couple of hundred thousand in student loans. Throwing money away with expensive maybe is not a reasonable way for him to deal with this problem. Thank you kindly for your expert advise.
